CVS 101

If you know how to shop CVS, you can get some awesome deals. I am going to break everything down to show you how easy it really is to shop with them.

The first thing you need to do is register for your Extra Care Card. You can either register for it at the store or you can register for your card online. When you register online, they will ship the card to you. Register online here.

The next thing you want to do is view their weekly sales circular. You can get this when you get your Sunday paper. Another way to view their circular is by viewing it online at their web site. This weekly circular has their weekly deals and weekly Extra Care Bucks.

You are going to want to pick up the Monthly Extra Care Bucks Ad from your local CVS store. The ad is located in the front of the store. This ad contains Extra Care Bucks deals for the whole month. This is great to match up with your own coupons.

CVS has just started printable coupons from their site. These coupons are good for items that are in the store. Be sure to check out the coupons available before you go to your local store. *TIP* You can use a CVS coupon and a Manufacturer coupon together. I will put it all together for you at the end of my guide.

Be sure to check your email. Occasionally, CVS will mail coupons that you can print and take with you. For example, $4.00 off $20.00 purchase and other amounts. These coupons can be used with other coupons. These coupons are linked with your Extra Care Card.

You can receive coupons from CVS via snail mail. You can also have them print out right after your reciept. There are times you will get a coupon printed from their coupon printer. (If your store has a coupon printer) Be vigilant on reading your recipts! You never know what savings you could be throwing away!

In summary, you can use one Manufacturer Coupon and one CVS coupon together for each individual item. Remember, you get the full value Extra Care Bucks when you use other coupons.

If you go into a store and shop only using Extra Care Bucks, please remember you will still have to pay tax out of your pocket.

A great plan of action before going to your local CVS is take some time and compile a list of items that you need to use. Make sure you check to see if you have manufacturer coupons that matches up with the CVS ad. Go to your local store and get the items on your list. When you are checking out, what you need to had them first is the Cash Register Reciept Coupons that you may have. Then you would hand them your Extra Care Bucks that you may have. Finally, hand the cashier any and all manufacturer coupons that you have. Stand back and enjoy the savings!
