There isn’t a “One Size Fits All” way to organize your coupons. The more experienced you become at clipping your coupons, you will also begin to develop your own style for organization.
I organize my own vast collection in a zip up 3 ring binder. I purchased baseball card holders. I can slip the coupon’s into the individual sections. I place the coupon’s in the sections with the coupon showing that will expire first. Then I inserted dividers. I broke down everything into sections. For example: Personal Care and Medications, Frozen Food, Dairy, Snacks and Candy etc…… I use the zippered binder because it prevents me from dumping my precious coupon’s all over the store! Believe me, I did this when I first started couponing, it wasn’t a fun deal.
I take my binder with me to the store. I take my time and if I see a un advertised sale, I can look to see if I have a matching coupon.
Here is a great tutorial on setting up your own binder. She explains it alot better than I could. Mom’s Build-It-Yourself Coupon Organizer
I have sections set up in my binder for the individual stores that I visit. I will compare my coupons to the store’s sales ad. When I have a matching coupon, I will move that coupon to that section. The store’s that I shop frequently are Kroger, Walmart, Walgreen’s, CVS, Dollar General and Family Dollar. I have sections for each of these.
Once a month, I go through my binder and take out any expired coupons.
My way may not be what is right for you. Be sure to search on google or different coupon forums. You should be able to find several other ways that may work for you. Be sure to ask around and see what everone else is doing.
